Can Golden Bristlenose Pleco and Platinum Hatchet Live Together?

Golden Bristlenose Pleco is a peaceful species (2/10), while Platinum Hatchet is peaceful (1/10). This modest difference means Golden Bristlenose Pleco may occasionally assert dominance over Platinum Hatchet.

In terms of spatial distribution, Golden Bristlenose Pleco prefers the Bottom (Substrate) zone, whereas Platinum Hatchet occupies the Top (Surface) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Golden Bristlenose Pleco is nocturnal and will be most active after lights-out, naturally reducing daytime encounters. Also, Platinum Hatchet is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.

The safe temperature window for both species falls between 23°C and 27°C. Aim for the midpoint of this range (around 25.0°C) for optimal comfort.
