Can Empire Gudgeon and Gold Barb Live Together?

Empire Gudgeon is a generally mild-mannered species (3/10), while Gold Barb is peaceful (2/10). This modest difference means Empire Gudgeon may occasionally assert dominance over Gold Barb.

Empire Gudgeon and Gold Barb both frequent the Middle (Open Water) and Bottom (Substrate) region of the setup. This overlap can increase competition for space, so providing ample room and cover is important to keep both species comfortable.

Worth noting: Empire Gudgeon is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.
