Can Celebes Halfbeak and Telmatochromis brichardi Live Together?

Celebes Halfbeak is a generally mild-mannered species (4/10), while Telmatochromis brichardi is moderately assertive (6/10). This modest difference means Telmatochromis brichardi may occasionally assert dominance over Celebes Halfbeak.

In terms of spatial distribution, Celebes Halfbeak prefers the Top (Surface) zone, whereas Telmatochromis brichardi occupies the Bottom (Substrate) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Celebes Halfbeak is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.

Both fish can tolerate a pH between 8 and 8. Maintaining a stable value within this band is more important than hitting an exact number.
