Can Bristlenose Pleco and False Rummy-Nose Tetra Live Together?

Bristlenose Pleco is a peaceful species (2/10), while False Rummy-Nose Tetra is peaceful (1/10). This modest difference means Bristlenose Pleco may occasionally assert dominance over False Rummy-Nose Tetra.

In terms of spatial distribution, Bristlenose Pleco prefers the Bottom (Substrate) zone, whereas False Rummy-Nose Tetra occupies the Middle (Open Water) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Bristlenose Pleco is nocturnal and will be most active after lights-out, naturally reducing daytime encounters.

The safe temperature window for both species falls between 22°C and 27°C. Aim for the midpoint of this range (around 24.5°C) for optimal comfort.
