Can Bearded Cory and Delicate Blue-Eye Live Together?

Bearded Cory is a peaceful species (2/10), while Delicate Blue-Eye is peaceful (1/10). This modest difference means Bearded Cory may occasionally assert dominance over Delicate Blue-Eye.

In terms of spatial distribution, Bearded Cory prefers the Bottom (Substrate) zone, whereas Delicate Blue-Eye occupies the Top (Surface) and Middle (Open Water) zones. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Delicate Blue-Eye is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.

There is no temperature overlap between Bearded Cory (16–23°C) and Delicate Blue-Eye (25–32°C). This fundamental mismatch makes long-term cohabitation impractical.

Providing a mix of open swimming space and sheltered areas with rocks, driftwood, or plants will keep both species comfortable and allow natural behaviour.
