Can Balloon Molly and Tandanus Catfish Live Together?

Balloon Molly is a generally mild-mannered species (3/10), while Tandanus Catfish is generally mild-mannered (4/10). This modest difference means Tandanus Catfish may occasionally assert dominance over Balloon Molly.

In terms of spatial distribution, Balloon Molly prefers the Top (Surface) and Middle (Open Water) zones, whereas Tandanus Catfish occupies the Bottom (Substrate) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.
