Can Balloon Molly and Gulper Catfish Live Together?

Balloon Molly is a generally mild-mannered species (3/10), while Gulper Catfish is moderately assertive (6/10). This modest difference means Gulper Catfish may occasionally assert dominance over Balloon Molly.

Balloon Molly and Gulper Catfish both frequent the Middle (Open Water) region of the setup. This overlap can increase competition for space, so providing ample room and cover is important to keep both species comfortable.

Worth noting: Gulper Catfish is nocturnal and will be most active after lights-out, naturally reducing daytime encounters.
