Can Tami River Rainbowfish and Tandanus Catfish Live Together?

Tami River Rainbowfish is a peaceful species (2/10), while Tandanus Catfish is generally mild-mannered (4/10). This modest difference means Tandanus Catfish may occasionally assert dominance over Tami River Rainbowfish.

In terms of spatial distribution, Tami River Rainbowfish prefers the Top (Surface) and Middle (Open Water) zones, whereas Tandanus Catfish occupies the Bottom (Substrate) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Tandanus Catfish is nocturnal and will be most active after lights-out, naturally reducing daytime encounters. Also, Tami River Rainbowfish is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.
