Can Gold Barb and Silver Prochilodus Live Together?

Gold Barb is a peaceful species (2/10), while Silver Prochilodus is generally mild-mannered (4/10). This modest difference means Silver Prochilodus may occasionally assert dominance over Gold Barb.

Gold Barb and Silver Prochilodus both frequent the Middle (Open Water) and Bottom (Substrate) region of the setup. This overlap can increase competition for space, so providing ample room and cover is important to keep both species comfortable.

Worth noting: Silver Prochilodus is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.
