Can Geophagus Orange Head Tapajos and Pink Tailed Chalceus Live Together?

Geophagus Orange Head Tapajos is a generally mild-mannered species (3/10), while Pink Tailed Chalceus is moderately assertive (6/10). This modest difference means Pink Tailed Chalceus may occasionally assert dominance over Geophagus Orange Head Tapajos.

In terms of spatial distribution, Geophagus Orange Head Tapajos prefers the Bottom (Substrate) and Middle (Open Water) zones, whereas Pink Tailed Chalceus occupies the Top (Surface) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Worth noting: Pink Tailed Chalceus is a known jumper, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.
