Can Beckford's Pencilfish and Tinfoil Barb Live Together?

Beckford's Pencilfish is a peaceful species (2/10), while Tinfoil Barb is generally mild-mannered (3/10). This modest difference means Tinfoil Barb may occasionally assert dominance over Beckford's Pencilfish.

Feeding time deserves special attention with this pairing. Tinfoil Barb is a known shrimp eater and may prey on small invertebrates or nano fish like Beckford's Pencilfish. Tinfoil Barb is an aggressive eater that may prevent Beckford's Pencilfish from getting enough food.

Because Tinfoil Barb is a fast, competitive feeder, consider using sinking pellets or feeding at opposite ends of the setup to ensure Beckford's Pencilfish receives an adequate share.
