Can Altolamprologus Calvus and Asian Arowana Live Together?

Altolamprologus Calvus is a moderately assertive species (5/10), while Asian Arowana is semi-aggressive (8/10). This modest difference means Asian Arowana may occasionally assert dominance over Altolamprologus Calvus.

In terms of spatial distribution, Altolamprologus Calvus prefers the Middle (Open Water) and Bottom (Substrate) zones, whereas Asian Arowana occupies the Top (Surface) zone. Because they use different levels of the water column, territorial disputes are less likely and the tank will appear more balanced.

Providing a mix of open swimming space and sheltered areas with rocks, driftwood, or plants will keep both species comfortable and allow natural behaviour.
